I am an 18 year old living in the state of Maryland. I am still currently in high school. I want to move out of my parent's house and go with my boyfriend. Is there any way my parents can stop me? and one i am gone, can they or the police force me to come home? also, can i move away to anywhere in the state. The more detailed the better. Thank you!!! This is very urgent!!

If you are 18 years old, legally, your parents cannot stop you from moving out. The police can't do anything about it either. Your parents probably have a good reason wanting you to stay, and honestly, I'd listen to them and think about it before you make such a huge step.

If you are eighteen you can move anywhere in the state, anywhere in the country or world for that matter. No one can force you to live anywhere (except if convicted of a crime, etc).

Just remember - they don't have to support you, either. You're going to have to provide for yourself. Have fun!

I agree. If OP lives to a typical age, there's 60 years or more left to spend with BF if she chooses. But the relationship with family will be gone.

And, I hope OP is planning to finish HS. It's really hard to get by without AT LEAST a high school education. Even if BF says he'll support you, spend some time reading this site for hundreds of examples of women thrown out in their 40s or 50s or 60s with no work experience, no job, no skills.

You're 18 - that's old enough to start growing up. 'Growing up' doesn't mean playing house with the BF.
