What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Mn i have full custody and legal custody is on reserve but we were never married so am told i have full legal custody until the father fights for it. the father has visitation everyother weekend. my daughter has some medical needs and a rare genetic disorder. i had to get a HRO due to her father texting me numerous times and asking him to stop several times. my question is a couple weeks ago while my daughter was at a visit her father brought her to the ER WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME a nurse at the hospital called me. i have since asked that he call me next time but he insists that since i got the hro he cant call me. what can i do to be notified of this if it happens again? i am just worried something could happen to my daughter due to him not knowing all of her medical needs and everytime i bring her to the hospital they arent sure what to do due to the genetic disorder. please help.

Golly - you could (gasp) GIVE THE FATHER THE INFORMATION!

You two NEED to be able to get along -- for your CHILD'S sake.

Have the RO modified so that he can call you to discuss the CHILD, and you can call him to discuss the CHILD.

Sheesh.

Actually... I don't necessarily see the problem - you WERE notified. Dad seems to have acted responsibly and had someone contact you since he felt he could not. However, I would ask for a modification so that he is permitted (and comfortable) about calling you to discuss the child's medical needs. This one's on you, to be honest.

Before you ask, no you cannot use this incident to deny him visitation.
