My dui charges were dismissed but my license is still suspended. I was pulled over again for entering the fwy on the carpool side (which isn't my fault since it was only one lane to get on the fwy, and it didn't say it was carpool only til I got onto the ramp) .. the officer only issued me a ticket for the carpool violation but I'm not sure if he ran my license because he didn't mention anything about my license being suspended. So my question is, if they see that I received a ticket while my license was suspended can they issue me another ticket for driving with a suspended license via mail or worse?

Are you 100% sure that it is suspended? Getting a ticket w/out having your license checked is possible but seems unlikely. Whatever the situation, congratulations! goodluck.

Well then... As Carl pointed out it is unlikely for future charges. Someone made a mistake. Because of liability issues alone, it's unlikely the officer would knowingly let you drive away. Nothing is for certain but most likely he did not bother to run the name or your license came back active. I cannot imagine the officer not bothering to run the name. Heck, who knows ? Maybe he's just in a really good mood. Do not expect the luck to continue. Expect the worst (ticket in mail) and you will not be disappointed.Again, goodluck.

Enasni, Thanks for...oy I don't know the word, NOTHING!!

CHP is notorious for not running people when their dispatch center is harried or short staffed. Since this was a freeway carpool thing, I imagine it was the CHP.

This is also why many wanted felons used to say they would be less likely to attack a CHP officer on a stop than a local PD or SO officer because the CHP usually wants to give the ticket whereas the locals want to poke around.

Thank you for clearing that up Carl. The dispatch center being to busy never crossed my mind. I was mistaken in my belief that most every p.d was equipped with their own computer in the cruiser and calling to verify basic info. was a thing of the past (Mayberry type commuties excluded). Anyway you having district info.in this case was invaluable. Thanks again it made no sense to me.

The CHP has a computer in the car but it is not safe to have your nose buried in the computer to run stuff so most CHP officers do not do it.

Local cops tend to be more about catching criminals and less about traffic violations so we are more likely to run people for warrants, check for probation and parole, etc. CHP usually opts for the cite and run.
