Ex possibly forged my signature for passport....

Hi,

I am highly suspicious that my ex-wife forged my signature to obtain my daughters passport. I have put in a request with the state department to see if my daughter was issued a passport. If she has forged my signature, which legal venue should I go to press charges since forgery is illegal.

Since you don't even know if a passport was issued, nothing. FYI, this has nothing to do with juvenile law unless your ex is a minor.

Now, in the event a passport was issued, do you have joint legal custody? Or does mom have sole legal custody?

What gives you the impression mom got a passport at all?

If in fact a passport was issued, request to have it recinded or flagged.

My ex-wife was asking me to sign the paper necessary for my daughter to get a passport and I refused. She has since stopped asking me. Knowing my ex-wife and how devious she is I would not put it pass her that she forged my signature. If she did do I go to the police to press charges?

Actually, it would be the agency that issued the passport that would act on the issue. Your civil duty ends with informing the agency. Only the DA presses charges.

So...the issue isn't actually that the child may be taken out of the country, is it?

It's more about Mom doing something that can be used against her?

Both parents don't need to be physically present; one legal parent can be there in person and submit either a consent form from the other parent, or offer proof of why the other parent cannot consent (jail, unfindable, death, living outside of the US).
