What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maine.

I really need some advice. I am applying to be a school bus driver. I am 22 almost 23 years old. I have NO adult record at all, but when I was 12 years old I had an incident and it ended up getting lowered to a class E misdemeanor. I went to the court a few days ago to get a copy of my record and the clerk said she couldn't give it to me because it has been sealed. Will this show up on the department of educations background check if it's sealed? Thanks a lot and hope for some answers soon.

It's really not possible to say that it won't show up because there are always errors that may occur. However, it should not show up on your background check. Even if it does, a misdemeanor from ten years ago will probably not raise to many eyebrows if there is a reasonable explanation.

Especially if you were only 12.

It is really unlikely that that charge will show up. if the clerk called it sealed, then it is most likely it is sealed.

What was the "incident"? This is actually a very important question.
