Need to know why this is being done

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? VA

My wife abandon me and filed for sole custody, visitation, spouse support and child support in juvenile court. Now she has removed the custody and visitation from the court. Why would her lawyer do this and only go after support. I have already filed for divorce and the divorce court has already given me a court date two weeks after the juvenile court date. I thought the divorce court overruled the juvenile court. Our daughter is 17 years old, if that makes a difference
