What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ND
I currently work at the good ol' Walmart and I recently reported to my managers that a fellow employee was sexually harassing me and it went up the chain all the way to the regional manager. They all said that he will not be fired but he is not allowed to speak to me unless work related and he has to stay away from me. That isn't really an issue, he works in back unloading the truck and I'm a sales associate.
I thought everything was fine until I find out from a supervisor (the lowest manager on the chain) that he overheard this employee telling others that he has a lawyer and is planning on suing me for lying and making this all up. He says he plans to sue the store as well. What do you think I should do? Should I bring this up with the higher managers or just wait and see if it amounts to anything?
I don't know how he can sue me for telling the truth...I just think he's making it all up to get me scared but if he really does have a lawyer, do you think the store would help me or would I be all on my own? I don't know how that would work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
