What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

I live in Michigan and my son who is 16 is on probation in one county, but now lives with me in a different county. (we requested that his case stay in the first county). His father lives in that county and my son will be returning there when he is off probation. He was court ordered to live with me while on probation. Anyways my question is this, he has been with me almost a year and is 2 months away from being off probation. Just a couple of days ago he was picked up and is being charged with MIP. My question is, will the county that has him on probation find out about this new charge, or will the county that he lives with me in find out about his probation? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Odds are that his probation will find out, however, I suggest not waiting for that to happen. Odds are that the terms of your son's probation includes being required to inform his probation officer of any contacts made with authorities, which would suggest that hiding this from the probation officer would, in itself, be a violation of his probation. Have your son talk to a lawyer first to confirm what his next step should be and how to do it, but I'm definitely leaning towards telling his PO.

It is very possible that his probation will be violated. Apparently your son doesn't believe the laws apply to him.
