What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Vancouver, WA
I started dealing with this credit company to be the bigger person, compared to the other person who is listed under this account as well, and try to set up payments with them. I ended up setting up a lump sum payment. Long story short, i couldnt come up with the money and i told them i could do the payments of 320 a month for 6 months but i couldnt start till the end of this month becasue I needed to acquire the money through payroll. They absolutely wouldnt accept it and said that they needed the money by the end of april and it was 2 days before the end of the month. I told them i didnt have the money and i did my best to wrok with them but they just wouldnt work with me. They told me the next step is invoulntary collection, I'm assuming garnishment. i find this very frustrating because the debt I'm owed wasnt even my fault in the first place and the other person on this account cannot be contacted so I'm getting completely screwed over. What can I do?? I really do not want to be garnished and I'm already in the process of suing this other person for his half of the debt.
