Charged in North Carolina, Live in VA

On Sunday, May 29th, I was charged by the State of North
Carolina with a Drinking Underage charge under
18b-302(b)(3). My blood alcohol content was .01. I admitted to drinking 2 Bud Lights.

This is my first misdemeanor of any kind. I am a 17-year
old Indian-American male. I'd like to know what is the
worst punishment I may receive for this charge and how I can
get this charge expunged or pardoned.

Also, I have heard that the charge will automatically be
expunged when I turn 18, is this true?

As a rising senior, I have started looking into colleges to
which I am going to apply, and I keep on seeing a section in
which all disciplinary actions must be listed, unless the
charge was somehow sealed, expunged, pardoned, etc. I am a
straight-A student with hopes, I need help!

The charge is discussed here:
GS_18B-302

The penalties are listed here:
GS_18B-302.1

That's what the law says, but in many courtrooms, the reality is quite different for first-time offenders. I'd suggest that you see an attorney to see what you can work out.

And stop drinking illegally if you expect to make a successful future for yourself.
