What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan My son received an MIP yesterday. He had beer in the backseat of the car. Our car was impounded. He was not in the car and he was not driving. He had to blow 7 times before the the BAC registered anything and it was below a .2. The ticket the officers issued is my husband's name, not my son's. It has my husband's DL # on it as well including his date of birth, etc. The car is registered to my husband. We're assuming the court date will be issued to my husband, not my son. It appears there was a mistake made. We're not sure what to do. Is the ticket valid? Should my husband show up in court?
