DCFS has now opened a case against my ex and his girlfriend. Most recently his girlfriend smacked my youngest across the face for telling her no. This, along with all the other stuff that has gone on in the past few months was enough for them to get involved. Is there anything I can do in the mean time while DCFS is investigating? And, how could the DCFS investigation impact our court date in two weeks?
i'd request the court to only supervised visitation with dad ONLY until the investigation is complete.

You know she has reposted the same thing a half dozen times in order to move her post to the top? If no one responds, she deletes the last post and REPOSTS it. It is somewhat annoying quite frankly. She wants attention is what that says to me.

Or she is a drama queen.

OR both.

That is what I was thinking. We go to court on the 22nd. Do I have to wait until our court date or can I go in and ask for that now?

I did it because I had posted it last night and still hadn't gotten a response. When I got home from work, it was on page 2. I personally don't go past page 1 unless I am looking for something. Not trying to be annoying, just looking for advice.

Yeah well, it is annoying. YOu didn't get a response so have a bit of patience. We are NOT here at YOUR whim and behest.

Ok, but seriously? It makes me laugh that by posting to chastise her for posting to bump her thread, you're bumping her thread.

:p

But, in all seriousness, how can I go about asking for supervised visits while DCFS investigates? Do I have to wait till our court date or can I go in and request it now?

File an emergency motion asking for immediate supervised visitation.

Do I just go to the court house and explain what is going on. Explain that DCFS has opened a case against them both and ask the court to grant supervised visits only until the case is resolved? Also if granted, will it go into effect the day the judge signs it or does he have to be served first? I ask because this upcoming weekend is his weekend.

No. You need to file a properly drafted petition. If you don't know how to do this, you should seek the assistance of an attorney or paralegal.
