What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

My house was vandalzied by three teenagers on Setpember 26th, 2009. My family had suspicions to who did it, but they were confirmed this year. It was nothing horrible, just some teeping, and also a very rude note. But the shaving cream they used to mark up the driveway marked it up permanently and it is still discolored to this day. We found out who those three teens were and my son asked them about it, only to be made fun of. We know these three did it, they have told their friends, and their friends have told us. We can't let this slide, and my question is, can we still do anything about it? I mean I know like the case is stale and all that but we have pictures of that night and I guess right now, police intervention is out of the question? But would it be a good idea to talk to those children's parents?

It is not too late for a civil suit

But, what would re-coating the driveway cost? Maybe 100 dollars?

The thing I did was tell the teens' parents in a public place along with a picture of the area vandalized.
The vandalized area was cleaned up by a third party paid for by the teens' parents.
