This is really getting out of hand! kinda funny tho. i can't stand twisty word people oh well life goes on.. just to clarify, I am not banned from bases I did call before i got there, MP's ran my social and no restrictions where in there data base ANDDDD IF THERE WAS i would have stayed in a hotel i would never risk my sister and her husband lively hood .... i love how i'm such a demon!! also i would never brag about getting on base what a hellhole it was. i will however brag about Alaska you must go before you die!! ok off to go rafting yay!! hope you have fun sitting on your computer all day!! trying to come up with tons of ways to insult me yay this good entertainment. back in 5 days to reign some more terror.

OP . I was once a lot like you , i watched many of my shipmates get a OTH and say hey no big deal at least i'm out. I agreed with them ,I hated the military . I said it was like being in jail, the pay was lousy , slow advancement, not what i expected. I considered going ua until they kicked me out but stuck it out and finished my time and received a honorable discharge. I didn't use any of my VA benefits afterwards or even tell anyone of my service , I felt that time and effort was wasted. Now as many years have passed I am using my VA for healthcare and am so happy i stuck it out. IMHO you don't get anything back while in or out the first 20 odd years but it comes to you later in life when you need it . You will feel differently one day as I did.

This is funny while the AF doesn't require DOD decals anymore, I had to get one for both my Jeeps to get on the Navy base to visit my Step-Mom, even though I have a retired AF ID Card. Also my Son in the Marines is required to have a DOD decal on his truck. So please explain this statement to me.

The military mermber is still held accountable for the actions of their dependants and guests. Has always been that way and will stay that way for a long time. Notice the statement on the fences around a military base.

Warning Restricted Area It is unlawful to enter this area without permission of the Installation Commander Sec 21 Internal Security Act of 1950;50 U.S.C. 797.

While on this installation all personnel and the property under their control are subject to search.

Take it as you want, you were banned period, escorting you on base was a violation, and if found out they can be held accountable. You can look at it as they broke an order, you were banned from military installations.

The office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and the Environment issued a directive in March that would end the decades-old practice of issuing decals to troops and base workers while the Marine Corps has requested a waiver from the policy. It looks like stickers won't be required in the future for Navy/Marine bases as well.

OP didn't mention which service this was so stickers may or may not even apply in this situation but looks like they're on the way out.

ok so here is another question... if when I got my discharge and, was really banned is the ban lifelong or only a couple years? im guessing it was only a couple years blactullly idfk BECAUSE AGAIN MY ID WAS SCANNED AT THE GATE I'M confused... yes indeed I WAS banned from bases.... this is what my discharge papers stated
being worried and curious i would get in trouble for being on base i contacted visitor center at ft wainwright and was told no restrictions where on my social security number and was givien the ok to be on base my id was scanned at the gate several times sooooo yes i thought i was banned and that is what was stated in paper work i also asked the question: if u are banned is it life long?

Get away with it once lucky you, but one day you might not be so lucky, then what? Just like speed limits, people speed all the time, and when they get caught and get a ticket, they bitch and complain. Just because you got away with it doesn't make it legal.

of course it was my civilian ID what other ID would they scan? i don't have a military iD anymore ive been out six years

Just because you are military or a dependent bringing someone on base while showing DoD, still makes you responsible for that persons actions. Knowingly transporting a banned individual on base could have legal repurcussions for the the transporter and their military spouse.

Your actions, OP, are fundamentally selfish and irresponsible. It is no wonder the military decided you weren't a good fit for them.

so calling the base before hand and asking them my stats was irresponsible and selfish and them giving me the ok to come on base still makes it wrong

if in fact they told me not to come on base because the ban still stands.... i sure wouldn't have set foot there why would i want to risk getting in trouble ..... i could have Easily stayed else where

I have friends at Wainwright. Their housing is not old, gross etc. They are now privatized. Big word...try this: The houses are new and improved. So, try again.

I think next time your brother in law should just say no. Or not tell you what post he is at. Either you are playing with fire or your just stirring up the pot here. Either way, I am sure many troops would thank you for getting the boot (if you did indeed get the boot) as you have shown you would have been a sucky wingman.
