A friend of mine was given a ticket on stop sign violation in California. She happens to have a Michigan license at that time. Soon after the incident, her Michigan license expired.
She is now settled in California and may apply for a license in California. Does she still have to pay for the ticket despite the fact that the ticket was given on a Michigan license that has EXPIRED?
What is going to be the consequence if she does not pay the ticket? Will this impact her getting a new California's driving license?
She is also required to take a course to remove the stop sign ticket from her driving record. Because the ticket is on her expired driver's license, can she opt not to take the course?
Lets put it this way, if she does not do any thing i.e., does not apply for a new California's driver's license, does she still have to pay for the ticket? If your answer is Yes, please justify for our understanding.
Please guide us.
Thanks
Kind Regards
