What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC
I live in SC.I have an 11 yr old son that was born here. When his mother and I split about 7 years ago she was granted custody, and I visitation and child support. Then she moved him to Acworth Ga about 185 miles from my home in SC(where he was born)..but the visitation agreement said every 2 weeks I was to see him.We currently meet half-way along the interstate that costs a lot of gas but I go along with it to see my son. But now, they are moving to Greenville Alabama, that is way too far for me to see him every two weeks! His mother told me that I can only have him in the summer now but I gotta keep paying child support? My question is this...I dont want to try and get custody but I do wanna try to make it so that she has to bring him all the way to SC seeing as how it is her decision to move so far away from his home and family. Can this be done? Can she be made to bring him to me every 2 weeks? I think that is totally reasonable...I am ready to get a lawyer just trying to get some advice first. thanks so much!

You might want to go ahead and get an attorney. You will need to modify your visitation. I doubt she'll be made to bring the child to you every two weeks, but I can certainly see you getting a more generous visitation during the summer and even holidays. You should also ask that she pay for transportation.
