What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ga. Hi My fiance and i helped out what i thought was a friend he got locked up along with his girlfriend. Then called us to get him out so we did that costs us $100.00. So long story short he got re arrested and spent 30 days in jail. He called us and told us over the phone to take care of his bills right checks out of his account do whatever we had to to get him out of jail. Our phones got cut off our water got cut off. But we took care of his stuff now his saying that i forged his name and that he did not give us permission to do that. yes some of the checks were made out to cash but i have the reciept where i paid a bill or gas to go visit him which was $75.00 round trip. I just dont know what to do but call my lawyer tomorrow. and try and find $620.00. Thats what they charged my bank account and it says forggery vannuss and a check amount. Im wondering if there is a warrent for my arrest? I have cancer and going thru treatments everyday. This is what i get for helping. Hotrod

We cannot tell you whether or not there is a warrant for your arrest. If you signed his name to those checks, then yes you committed a crime.

Even if he gave you permission to write cheques on his behalf - what made you think you could use his money to pay a bill or gas? You realise that your signature probably does not match his, right? So you committed fraud signing any cheque in his name.

And yes, this is what you get for helping "a friend" who get's in trouble with the police.
