What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? north carolina my i was married to my kids father when he got in an acciendent and died in 1991 i was preganant when it happened he has land in his name and in was in his moms name also she put it like that when she bought it for us so when he passes away i never thought of doing anything legal about it she paid the property taxes everyyear now my kids are grown she put her part in the my sons name her grandson so now it says his name and his fathers name on it is the part of his fathers land legally mine he didnt have a will
