What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin
My mother and I was left property by my grandfather. My sister has been living in it for a number of years and talked my mother into signing a quit claim deed last winter so she could get government funds for home improvements that she couldn't get unless she was the home owner. So now my sister and I own the house.

She found that she still couldn't get these funds because she was only part owner so she forged my name on the loan applications and was arrested. I'm sure she will get a rather large fine for this and since she doesn't own anything but her share of the property I imagine the fine will have to be paid from that, I'm not sure just how.

There was a $60,000 bond. I'm not sure of the details on that because my mother and sister have tried to keep me in the dark about the whole thing. I warned my mother that something like this would happen if my sister was allowed property rights and they have to admit I was right. I had some hope that I could still find a way to get back my mothers retirement nest-egg-- my mom's half of the property-- but that hope is growing rather dim now.

Can any one tell me just what will happen as far as my share of the property? I can't afford an attorney.

**A: you still have half ownership of the property. Was the property used as collateral for the $60K bond? Is there a mortgage on the property and what is the value of equity?

Yes the property would have had to be used as collateral. There's no mortgage. The value of the property is $65,200. Her share being $32,600. And my share is the same.
