School was dismissed.....
So, once the last bell rings, no student is under the jurisdiction of any school officials such as teachers or administration? Then I guess they can leave even if they have been told to stay for after school detention and also if they do stay for extracurricular activities, the school administration or teachers still have no autority over them since school has been dismissed. As soon as school is dismissed, they can light up a cigarette, even before they get up from their seat, because the school has no authority over them. Once school is dismissed, the student can even walk up to the teacher and lay a good cussing on them because they have no authority over them at that time. I guess the schools have no authority over students when they are riding the bus home since school has been dismissed.

Just because classes have been dismissed it does not mean the students are no longer under the authority of school personnel. As long as that student is on school property they are under the jurisdiction of the administration and/or teachers. Once the student is told to stop and is still on the school grounds, then the authority figure that told them to stop and any other authority figure can assist them in stopping that student and they can continue to go after that student even if they leave the school property.

 Project much? Do you have reading comprension issues? Everyone ELSE understood my point. Clearly it went right over your pedestrian brain.

I can tell you this. If I am a student and have been dismissed for the day, period end of discussion and no detention or other activity, and someone tells me to stop for something other than conversation or relating to school work, I am not stopping. If they force the issue, there's going to be a problem. I think many older (junior/senior) students would take the same stance on the issue.
