I\'m a minor and I live in Colorado, and one day i was in the back of my car going to the top of hill to longboard when I pointed out a longboard in a persons garage my friends in the front 2 seats then pull over and steal the longboard out of the persons garage. Then we drove off and later were caught I didn\'t run but my friends did. Should I hire a lawyer? If I don\'t what I most likely be convicted of? If it helps I live in Douglas county

Yes, I would hire a lawyer. And I sure as heck would not be discussing it with ANYONE except your lawyer and your parents.

I'd amend misto's response to say that, apart from telling your parents about your legal issue, you don't discuss it further with anyone except your lawyer. There is no parent-child privilege.

Right. I should have said that. Tell your parents that you're in trouble, but don't get them involved.

(I'm vague on one thing. If OP tells the parents in the presence of his attorney, does that protect him? I don't think so, but wanted to make sure).
