Need help with Truancy issue

Hi, I'm a student at both Elkhorn Area High School and the Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. My High School both signed me up for and paid for me to take two courses over at Gateway Technical College, one of these classes, IT Essentials, requires me to miss two classes at High School every Thursday. Last year when they signed me up to take these classes they said it wasn't a big deal and they knew I had to leave. As of this year if I miss another Thursday to go to the classes they are paying for me to take, they say that I'll get a Truancy ticket. I've talked to the Assistant Principal on three occasions about this, I still get phone calls saying I'm skipping. My mom has talked to the Assistant Principal at least once on this issue, not sure how many really I keep telling her not to bother and that I've got it under control. The Assistant Principal himself has said that it was alright. Due to what's happening I was wondering if there was anything I could do legally, or even sue them to make this issue disappear. Write a specific letter with all the facts and ask what they require. Demand a written response as you have been threatened with criminal action.

Is it just Thursdays that are in question, or are there other days you have missed from high school.

How is your attendance in the college class? Because if you are missing high school to attend college, but then you skip college class, you ARE going to be in trouble. Get an attendance record, or a letter from the college professor that says you have been there every day, and provide that to the Truancy Officer.

Also, time to move to the principal, not their assistant.

Seems to me that it's the TEACHERS who are recording this as an absence, thus starting the ball in motion. Perhaps our OP/the parents can speak with the teachers...

That's true, but the student shouldn't even show up on the teacher's roster, if the student isn't meant to be in the room.

That would depend on how the school's system is set up. (Not disagreeing...just commenting )

Most HS classes meet more than once a week, so it is entirely possible OP IS enrolled in those classes, just is permitted to miss themonce/week. Someone should definitely involve the teachers. Is the guidance counselor involved?
