What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia
I am hanging by a thread while waiting for a call back from my divorce attorney's office...maybe someone here has been through a similar situation.
After a hard fought and tough divorce, finalized and awarded last year, I am down to the wire.
The exspouse and I have sold the marital home, due to close in several days. Our property settlement agreement states that until the home is sold, we will split mortgage, utilities and maintenance costs. It is very clear. Nevertheless, the exhusband is balking at splitting my expenses, yet expects me to split his. The attorneys are talking...but it is dragging on and I fear what will happen if this isn't resolved before the home goes to closing - I suppose the funds will be held in some kind of abeyance....
I can't imagine going to court over something that we clearly both signed - in writing.
Thoughts? prayers? wishes? stories? Tks
