Three years ago I got a divorce, but I was in court for 7 months fighting for custody of my daughter at the same time. Being worried about that, I never thought to ask for my name to be changed. I went back and talked to the District Judge and she said that I needed to talk to my lawyer, the only thing is, I think my lawyer felt bad for me and didnt charge me, so he wont answer my calls, messages, or emails. What do I need to do to get my name changed, and is there anyway that I can get it done without having to hire a lawyer?
