What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

If someone smoked some pot inside a juvie detention and months later a investigation started into pot getting in there - would that person get any charges or trouble if their name came up in the investigation? The person is not in the juvie any more.

We don't know what they will find.

I know there have been some cases where a person was arrested on something like DUI and, when searched at the jail, were also charged with bringing in contraband into a controlled facility. That gets a far greater punishment than mere possession.

I didn't have anything to do with it getting in there. Just smoked some.

Come on. Do you really want us to play guessing games all night?

They'll investigate. if they find evidence of a crime, they'll prosecute - and you'll find out then.

There are all sorts of possible charges:
- Possession
- Violation of detention center policies
- Distribution (if you passed the joint around).
Who knows.

If you're charged with something, get an attorney. Meanwhile, try to get your life straightened out. Smoking pot while in a detention facility is an incredibly stupid thing to be doing.

I didn't pass anything around. I just had everything I needed passed to me.

Yea...smoking pot in juvie does make you kinda paranoid about getting caught...

Never talk with anyone but your own attorney about a crime that you have committed.

I have no idea what evidence they might have - videos, witnesses, who knows? Again, none of us can guess what might or might not happen.

So 4 years felony, 2 years misd?

They don't have video of me smoking. I would guess they wouldn't keep all their video of every second of every day from months ago unless they had some reason to...but I'm guessing...

Witnesses...I dunno...probly if I got an attorney everyone locked up in there could be seen unreliable...

Their investigating now because of recent things, but sounds like they suspect/investigating past things too.

As you were already told - the fact that you got out doesn't mean that they can't prosecute a crime while you were incarcerated. Up to the statute of limitations, they can prosecute any time.

Bottom line is that you apparently didn't learn a darned thing and you still seem to think that it's all a game. Trying to find loopholes and trying to find a way to weasel out of punishment that you might have earned.

You committed a crime. Then, while incarcerated, you committed another crime. If you'd spend 1/2 as much energy trying to straighten out your life as you're spending trying to find a loophole, you'd have a LOT more promising future.

That's not really what I meant. I was talking internal policy. Not external laws.

I'm guessing that if my name comes up, no, nothing internal happens. But if I go back I can guess what happens.

I'm only asking questions. If they make some case out of this,and with evidence, maybe I'll congratulate them.

You committed a crime. Then, while incarcerated, you committed another crime.

If you think that's unusual then you don't know the 1/2 of it. Assault assault assault extortion theft theft assault contraband intimidation drugs assault. Juvie's a busy place. You'd smoke some pot at the end of the day too.
