What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI
Finally my pain in the butt neighbor was charged with a class H felony. This person requested a public defender. I saw that legal counsel was appointed. This person owns a home valued at $440,000.00, pays over $7,000 per year in property taxes, listed the home to be fully restored with many valuable antiques, and is not behind on any utilities or taxes. They also own a rental property valued at over $265,000.00 with 5 units charged at close to $700.00 per month per unit, fully rented at all times, with property taxes at over $4,000, with no taxes or utilities listed as behind. They stated that rooms are rented in the privet home and that is not considered income and that the rental property is not listed as income. How can someone with this much property qualify for the tax payers to cover the expenses. Also the amount listed as income will in no way cover the monthly expenses such as utilities, insurance and house payments.
