Ahhh, BINGO, the VA will need it because his disability payments will depend on how many kids he has and how old they are-hence the birth certificates.

I do try not to jump to the negative with him and normally have no problems co-parenting with him. However his wife has decided to call CPS regarding my children for what the CPS worker knew was false information, because she spoke with my ex to verify. If he has the info, she has it. Since then, anything dealing with the kids I am very cautious with everything. I believe the term is "covering your rear".

I wouldn't do it FOR him. But I would fo' sho' send him the link.

Here, all one has to do is walk into any health department in the state, fill out a form that takes about a second and a half, present photo ID, and viola, they print a BC while you wait. It's $10. It's easier than keeping track of them when I need one for something.

In California it depends.;)

I did that, I got copies of all of them before I left the state. He's nowhere near California now so he'd have to do it online. Which they ask for more information then he probably remembers, so he'll call me for the info.

Repeat to yourself: The children wouldn't exist without him.

I do, like I said, I just don't want to be the doormat. When we first got divorced and before the paperwork was received by us he was calling me to help find out where the paperwork was saying our divorce was final. I pursued it, found it, got him a copy, he got married that weekend. So yeah, they wouldn't exist without him but I'm done being a doormat.

Your excellent co-parenting attitude is duly noted.

Is there any legitimate reason a non-custodial parent would need a birth certificate if the child is already enrolled in an insurance program til they reach 21 or 23 if they are in school?
For God's sake! Maybe he just wants to look at them.

Question is...Is there any "legitimate" reason for you to with-hold the BC?

My ex had our kids BCs (and he's the NCP). A few years back, our son needed his BC for an employer. He called Dad and asked him for it. Dad refused. Getting them from out of state was a pain, and cost our son two weeks work. Did nothing to improve our son's opinion of him.

Yes. My daughter has been insured by my employer for 5 years, but this year, our Benefits Administration company required newly established actual documentaion of relationship for all dependents insured. I needed two odocuments from each list to MAINTAIN coverage! Not sure I remember the term used, but I believe it was "certify eligability".

I'll get into that debate with you elsewhere. But right now, why don't we keep the focus on Mom's issue with letting Dad have copies instead of getting into tangents?

LOL... because the issue has been hased out. Dad has every right to order the BC and if he wants it that bad he can get it himself.

I'm not interested in debating.

And I already provided her with the info on page 1. The question was long ago answered, the thread is done.
