My ex-husbands cause of death is unknown, he died November 8, 2011.
I need the insurance money to pay bills. they have a forensics detective investigating his cause of death. I need the insurance money, how long will I have to wait?
The insurance company has denied my claim because his cause of death is unknown. After waiting for 8 weeks, I requested another death certificate,
I was told his cause of death is still unknown and I have no idea how long it will
take them to determine his cause of death. A forensics detective is now trying to determine how he died. I want a ballpark time on how much longer I will have to wait.

You will just have to wait until the investigation is complete to find out anything.
However, why the problem with determining the cause of death? Is there a possibly of an accidental death? Is this a possible accidental death policy or have an accidental death rider/benefit on the policy?
How long ago was this policy taken out - has it been over two years ago?
I assume you're the beneficiary on the policy. You said you need the money to pay bills. Are you talking about your ex-husband's bills? Ins. proceeds pass outside the estate & go to the bene named in the policy to do with as they wish. You do not have to pay his bills out of the ins. proceeds. (unless it was stated in the policy that was what you were to use the proceeds for - would be rare)
