What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona.

I apologise for this question, since it's hypothetical, and hypotheticals aren't as interesting as "real" problems. But something that's been bugging me that I haven't been able to find out easily online is: what happens to kids who commit crimes while visiting another state?

To make it concrete: let's say a minor girl is travelling with her older, non-minor boyfriend from Iowa to Arizona. She gets really mad at the guy and unwisely ends up stabbing him--not to death, but easily bad enough to be considered violent assault. As far as I understand this, if she were an adult, she would be charged by Arizona state (were the police to be notified of the event). But it's less clear to me what would happen in the case where she's a juvenile. Does she get shipped back to Iowa, where her guardians live, or will she have to serve her time in the desert?

Thanks....

Kids are still subject to State law - no matter where they are.

I wonder if her older, non-minor boyfriend realizes he could be facing charges, too...
