I don't understand what you want. A permanent separation? You want the spouse to pay the bills? What?

Length of time "together" is meaningless. "Married" is what matters, legally.

It sounds like you want an agreement for your ex to stay married to you. That wouldn't be a binding agreement.

In some states, there are covenant marriages which are harder to end then regular marriages, but that needs to be handled at the time of the marriage - even if your state recognizes covenant marriage.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you're out of luck.
