True. My husband has permission to use my debit card on my checking account. Of course, I seriously limit what I keep in a debit tied checking account, (especially because I use it to shop online) in case the account is ever hacked.

Sounds like you gave him permission to use the account. You will have to prove something other than that if you have hopes of recovering monies.
