What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kansas
I have been divorced for a year. It was court ordered that my ex pay half of the balance on a credit card that we had during the marriage. For a while he made partial payments and as of lately he has been not making payments or minimal late payments. The credit card was in my name with he as an additional user on the card, thus he is ruining my credit, increasing the interest rate on the card and accruing late fees. Can I get a court order to have this corrected or do I have to go through my attorney. I am tired of paying my attorney lots of money and nothing happening.

Realistically, if you want to preserve your credit you'll have to pay the card off yourself and then sue your ex for reimbursement.

There is no court order to obtain. The credit card is not a party to your divorce and will hold you responsible for your account. Your best bet is to pay the card off and then sue your ex.

Sorry for mispeaking...I don't want to get another court order. Can I file a Contempt of court against him to have the balance paid? Or would I be better off paying it and sueing him?

You would be better off paying the balance and then dealing with him on your own. This way you preserve your credit.
