What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

Hi everyone. Quick question.

My divorce was finalized last week. I'm keeping the house, and I need to remove her from the Deed. I understand I have to fill out a "Quit Claim Deed".

My question is, is it true that because this is a divorce, I dont have to pay "Documentary Stamp Tax"?

Cause documentary stamp tax is 0.60 cents for every $100 the house is valued at. But I read somewhere that when its a divorce, I only pay recording fees.

Thanks everyone.

Actually, she is the one who needs to give a quit claim deed to you, and she should not do so unless its at the closing table for your refinance to take her off the mortgage.
