What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I paid child support in the past, the support was canceled in 2010 on terms that our son's mother and I agreed on in writing in a court order.

I recieved this letter today from the family court, can someone tell me what it means?

"FAMILY DIVISION

NOTICE OF INTENT TO TERMINATE CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES

Dear DK1, Within 60 calendar days of this notice, the Family Division will close your your support case per court order dated: <blank>

The case is being closed because CP NON-COOPERATION DICUMENTED ON IV-D CASE

If you do not want your case closed, you may reapply for child support services at the Family Court.

someone can correct if i am wrong....but i'm almost positive that means the state is no longer pursuing you for child support as the other parent has dropped the case.

I actually read it that child support services are being terminated because the parent receiving/requesting support is NOT cooperating as required.

But, nonetheless, they've started the process to close the case.

Sounds like the CSE did not get the word that the CS had been terminated, and that they were attempting to pursue the original order, but mom wasn't cooperating (because she knew that CS was terminated even if they didn't) so now they are closing the case.

In the end, the result is the same. No more CSE pursuit of CS.

Thank you for your help/responces. I called the family court today and left a message with an officer to get more details. Hopefully I get a call back today. Just needed to make sure I didn't need to do anything / respond to the courts.

Also, meanyjack, your signature is hilarious, "No trees were harmed as a result of this post. However, thousands of electrons were horribly inconvenienced."
