What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota

My father recently sent me a hand written letter saying I was no longer his POA. Nothing from a lawyer just a hand written letter. Doesn't this require a legal notification that the POA has been changed?

I am still the executor of the will but can I still be executor without having POA?

What you received IS "legal notification." You are no longer entitled to exercise the duties as outlined in the POA.

And, to be clear, you are NOT the executor until he passes on and you are appointed the executor of his estate.

I completely agree. The OP is no longer the POA for dad unless the POA was durable and it sprung into being when dad evidenced loss of a capacity.
