Bcuz my ex "wife" takes so many unwanted pictures of MY son, I told him next time to break her phone or camera. Apparently he did and now they are threatening to take me to court and pay for the expenses. My son was forced to say I told him to do it bit he was only defending himself. Can I be charged with this?

if the child is a minor, yes, you can be held accountable both financially and possibly even criminally.

If the child is an adult, then you would likely have no liability.

as to the pictures being unwanted: apparently she wanted the pictures.

is this also her son? If so, you have no business saying what you did.

This is my son and my exs "wife" he has said repeatedly he doesnt want her taking any pictures of him bcuz she posts them on media sites so I told him to break it. How can I be charged since it was during his time! MY son is a minor

.
because your son is a minor and you told him to commit a crime, you can be held liable for his actions you directed him to take.

Pay for the phone or expect to face her in a court. This will also not be good if it is ever brought up in family court. Learn to deal with situations without foolish suggestions such as this. Telling a child, your own child, to resort to violence and vandalism to solve a problem is a bigger problem than the one he is attempting to solve.

Unwanted by who? You? Who cares what you want? The photos are taken on Dad's time and he and his wife can take as many as they want. I hope you are ordered to replace the camera by the court and that the judge uses this incident as cause to reevaluate your fitness as custodial parent. If your ex is smart (and since he dumped you and found a wonderful woman to spend the rest of his life with that your son loves, it's obvious he is smart), he will tell his wife to take even more pictures than ever before since it bothers you so danged much. Just because you're eaten up with envy and jealousy over your ex and his wife, that doesn't give you the right to try to poison your son the way you've been trying to do. In the end, your son is going to come to really hate you and see you for the sick, twisted, bitter ugly troll that you are. Seek counselling. You really need it.
