What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OH

I know I need to get an attorney when the time comes to file, but I was just wondering, what kind of things does the judge look at when considering the adoption? Is there a certain amount of time you have to be married before you can file?

The judge wants to see a stable marriage. Also the opinion of the child can matter depending on the age of the child. The fitness of the home matters. The best interest of the child matters.

The Judge wanted to know that I was a resident of the county, that I was more than 10 years older than the child, and that the child had lived with me and viewed me as a parent.
