I filed for divorce 2009 and it is an active divorce. It went into default and I am in the middle of resubmitting my new judgement package (first one was rejected about a month ago). So my divorce is still pending due to documents and other things that need filing but my question is, my ex filed for a divorce and I got the paperwork on Saturday, but I already filed so what do I do with this nonsense paperwork I was served with? Do I respond? Do I just send my current open case number to the courts? Do I have to waste time and go back down to the courts again? Help.

They both are filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Respond to his divorce asking that it be dismissed due to your open case #--------- . If same courthouse his filing may be considered an answer to yours.
