What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

My ex currently has my son for summer vacation. my son has summer school that he needs to attend. Today when i went to go pick up my other child, i seen my son and the way he was dressed. he had holes in his pants, a small tight shirt over an unmatched bottom shirt and his hair wasnt combed back. when i asked him why he was dressed like that he said his dads "wife" let him go to school like that. can my ex get in trouble for this? am i allowed to call my ex and explain to him how to dress my son?

Wow. No, you cannot tell your ex how to dress his son. How old is the child? If he is old enough to go to summer school, then usually that means he is old enough to dress himself. Other than that, your ex is responsible for him during his time. Wearing a small shirt, pants with holes and having uncombed hair is no big deal. Especially as it sounds as though the child is old enough to be responsible for his personal care (dressing, combing hair, bruching teeth, etc) himself.

Happy Monday, Ms Trollishness!

Okay, I'll play - on this one.

NO! You cannot dictate how Dad and/or his wife dress Dad's child during Dad's parenting time.

That's the legally accurate response, so now you can close the thread.

I don't understand why you keep posting here. You never believe anything the responders say to you, and when they repeat what they've previously advised, hoping you will eventually understand what they're trying to tell you, you get all sniffy and rude and start name-calling.

I really don't understand why you persist in posting questions on a site where you firmly believe all of the responders are idiots and liars. This doesn't make any sense to me.

ok thanks for the answer, i'll make sure and just tell my son that he needs to learn how o dress himself correctly when i see him. thanks

Does anyone realize that if I could throw people in jail for not having their children dressed properly, MOST people on this forum would have criminal records???

<----realizes this.

:D
<--------GUILTY your honor! :D All the proof one needs is to see the giant tutu/brightly striped leggings collection my daughter likes to add to EVERY SINGLE outfit she puts on. Because I tend to let her dress herself, she frequently resembles something between a ballerina and a rodeo clown. I let it slide because hey, at least she's covered right? :p ;)

Yep - unless you have a Diva like mine, who insisted on matching her own clothes at age 4. That's about the time I started letting her help pick out my clothes.

It's so humiliating to have a 4 year old who is better at anything pertaining to fashion than you are... :)
