What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

My friend is from Brazil and lives there. Her husband lives in NC, US legally, they married in Brazil and now they have divorce process going on in Brazil. The problem is the fact that her husband has never infirmed the court in Brazil about his work or the home he owns in NC, US. Now the court in Brazil sent The Economic Situation investigation letter to the Consulate of Brazil in Washington DC.
My friend is in difficult situation and wondering if Consulate of Brazil can really do anything to find out where her husband works and what house he has in NC. Should we wait for that or should we hire a detective to find it out.
Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response, I think we are wondering that now, is the any law in US that can help us to force husband to report his situation? Can Consulate of Brazil be able to ask his company to report his salary, or should we just directly contact local policy to get it enforced?

No US entity is required to respond to a request from a Brazilian court.

Thank you for your response, is there not any international laws we can benefit? If he chose not to respond or lies that he does not work or does not have a house, is there nothing we can do?

Recourse would be strictly under Brazilian law. Which we do not know anything about here.
Just FYI ecmst, there are lots of treaties between the US and other countries (outside of the Hague Convention) that deal with these kinds of matters. I have no clue whether there are any with Brazil, and I think if there are its way beyond the scope of this forum, but we shouldn't assume that recourse would strictly be under Brazilian law. The OP needs to consult an attorney in Brazil that is familiar with international law.

His sole property in the US may not be subject to Brazilian law.

It also may or may not be relevant under Brazilian law. It may depend on whether he already owned them before the marriage, inherited them or bought them with inherited or premarital funds, and so on. A divorcing spouse is not necessarilly entitled to a part of everything the other person owns, at least in the US. In Brazil this may or may not be different.

Out of curiousity: how long was this marriage?
