Filing for Divorce: Dont know what answer will my wife file

I dont want this divorce to be expensive and wanna be able to do it without an attorney unless absolutely necessary. I am thinking to file for divorce based on insupportability discord and conflict?

My wife may or may not file an answer. What if she does file an answer and accuses me of something i didn't do. Will i run out of options once the original petition for divorce is filed with ground to be discord & conflict? Can i modify my original petition to include what she did to me? I Just wanted to avoid playing blame games and wasting my money. I am only concerned that if i file a petition, based on Discord & Conflict and she comes back with blames on me... what will happen? At that point, can i involve attorney and modify petition?

Why don't you negotiate for a non-contested divorce? Once things get to court to resolve and not just accept the resolution, they will get nasty. Sure, sometimes not....sometimes.

She can respond. That is her legal right. Her response may be factual or ludicrous.

You can modify your original petition, but that will only save you $$ if you are agreeing to modify to something more palatable to her - otherwise you're fanning the flames. Which leads to more $$.

Please note: being willing to negotiate does not mean that the other party will be willing to comply. VOE.

Per statute the proper ground you alleged is insupportability:

Sec. 6.001. INSUPPORTABILITY. On the petition of either party to a marriage, the court may grant a divorce without regard to fault if the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate ends of the marital relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.

The definition of insupportability includes discord and conflict but that is NOT the actual statutory ground but a portion of the determination/definition of the ground. Your main issue will be if she states that there is a reasonable expectation of reconciliation -- or can show it. If you have reconciled with her after the filing (think had sex with her) that could be evidence that you don't meet that ground. You may find that she can request marital counseling be ordered to delay the divorce. Will a divorce be granted if you really want it? Yes. But it could take longer than you wish.
