My husband and I are getting a divorce. He had an affair with so woman, and is still talking with her, but claiming that nothing is going on.. That's another story. I found out about the affair the day that I gave birth to our son. I tried to forgive, and make our marriage work for our son but clearly it's not working. So here is my question. I had horrible post postpartum depression and am still struggling with depression/anxiety from it, but I also have ADHD. He is saying if I leave him he is going to use all this against me in court to get my son taken away from me. He tells me that all of this will prove me "Mentially Ill" and "I'm to crazy to raise our son!" I don't want be with him any more, but I will not leave if he is right and I can not have my son! That little boy is my everything!!! It scares me because he is a trust fund baby and say he will spend every penny hiring the best lawyer he can find if I walk out that door with my son!

Please!! ANY ADVICE WILL HELP!!!!

Have/Are you getting help for you PPD? Have a MD Dx'ed you with PPD and ADHD? Are you on medication for either issue? Are you breast feeding while on medication? Have you consulted with a local Divorce Attorney or five to see how this will impact your custody?

And why are you placing such a burden on a child?

Yes. I have been treated for both ppd and adhd. I didn't breastfeed, like I mentioned I didn't know what my first step should be, I don't want them to just take my son.

I am going to suggest you consult with a local attorney that will advise you to you new legal reality.

You need help to deal with your depression and anxiety. The child is HIS son as well. Custody will be based on best interest.
