What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oklahoma

Am I responsible for my ex wifes medical bills? they were incurred during our marriage. Now I am being garnished to pay for her bills.

She was on her own health insurance from her employer not mine. Nor was she ever on my insurance.

This is costing me $900 a month to pay off the $5000 bucks in bills. She will not do anything?

Advice is greatly appreciated!

A cursory glance indicates that yes, medical bills incurred during the marriage become the responsibility of both spouses regardless of whether or not you actually signed a document accepting responsibility. I take it this wasn't addressed in your divorce?

You could also try to sue her in small claims, I suppose.

If you're being garnished, that means that there is already a judgement against you. As such, the question of whether or not you are responsible is moot, as a court has already determined that you are.

That's very true.

I should probably put on my reading glasses right about now
