Debt not documented on divorce decree...any options?

My ex-husband and I handled our divorce all on our own, no lawyers or anything. Desperate to just have it over with, I did not document some of the debt we accrued together. Specifically, a private student loan I had taken out in my name for him to use on his business. He had promised me that he would be responsible for this and would never "screw" me over, as he put it. I am regretting not documenting this now as he is refusing to pay it at all. Do I have any options at all legally?

Yes, your option is to pay the loan as you agreed. In the divorce, you stated that all debts were dealt with.

The decree is final, therefore your divorce and the division of your property and debts is final. Unless you and he have made another agreement for him to pay you since that agreement, he owes you nothing. In any case, he does not owe the loan money, you do.

If what you did with the loan money could be considered an investment, you could find yourself in very hot water. Keep quiet and pay it back.
