What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?Alabama

My wife and i have bee divorced roughly 6 months. The divorce papers say that i have every other weekend unless there is a holiday, which makes it two weeks and by the rotation it would make it three. Niether custodial or non custodial parent can have the kids Three weekends in a row. Mfirst question is, does a new alternete weekend rotation apply if the two week rule is applied. Also i am supposed to have the children on fathers day from 6pm friday till 6 pm Sunday. Plans were made for a vacation that ends on the saturday of that weekend by my ex wifes parents. Where do i stand on my rights for that weekend? and should my ex wife have checked with me before she said it was ok.

Please pull out your paperwork and type word for word what the order says about visitation, leaving out any names. Your Reader's Digest version leaves much to be desired and Alabama does not have codified/standard visitation.

As far as the grandparents taking the children for vacation, yes, Mom should have checked with you since it's your time. But seriously? I'd let it go this time with a (non-confrontational) reminder to Mom that she needed to check with you before promising your time to somebody else-and when you are going to make that time up.
