Hi, I would like to know if someone is served with relocation papers and they have 30 days to respond, will the court still be willing to hear their objections if they did not respond within the alloted time?

It really depends on the Commissioner. Some will give a pro-se respondent a break. Some won't.

If they properly file and request permission to file late, then yes their objections will be heard. Most courts, if not all, have a mechanism to allow tardy filings.

Yes, the court can entertain a late filing of the object, provide that "good cause is shown". RCW 26.09.500.

However, if the relocation is in the same school district your objections will not be heard, whether timely or tardy. RCW 26.09.450.
