What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any information about my situation

My mother had willingly admitted herself to get a psychiatric write up. To see if she had major problems because she had started excessively drinking. When she admitted herself my father came back into the picture and took me, my brother and sister under his roof.

My mother had been discharged over a week ago and we want to go home, but she says that she no longer has custody of us, because my father has said this to her.

I wanted to know if this was true, and if it is how long has she forfeited custody. She wants us back but my father is determined to keep us so my mother has to pay child support, etc

Your mother needs to head down to the courthouse and find out if there have been any petitions filed and/or hearings held re: the custody of the minor children, and get herself a copy of the most recent court order so she (and possibly an attorney) can examine it carefully. There's nothing you can do, as you are not a party to the case (though you are a subject of said case).
