Notary on grandmothers behalf

Hello everyone,

I have been recently named my grandmothers Veterans Affairs Fiduciary and I am trying to align all of her income into one account. I also have power of attorney over her.

One of the pensions she receives requires that I get a signed notary in order for me to change any of her information. However, she has late stage dementia and is not able to sign this document herself to get it notarized.

My question:

Should I able to get this document signed by me and notarized with my power of attorney?

Thanks Signer. I have asked the Pension Admin if its ok to sign for her and they said to put down an X and to provide them with a POA. Which that wont be a problem. I guess my question is more in the lines of .. would the person doing the notary allow me to do that.

Call the notary and ask them.

As TheGeekess said - ask the notary. You won't actually be putting an "X" - more likely you'll be signing and noting "Attorney in Fact" after your signature - the notary will be able to help guide you.
