Depending on where he is, he may be surrounded by either water fowl or homosexual men.
I suspect he is with his family who support his right to Christian values and freedom of speech. Unlike his Gay/Lesbian detractors who only seem to believe in their own rights an nobody else's.

Yet, I can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater, say copyrighted works, defame others, disparage any number of agricultural products...so "no" government restrictions isn't quite right either.
Actually you can. There are NOT bans on what can be said or restrictions preventing it. There may be consequences for doing it but you are not prohibited from saying anything.

Now you are clueless. Gay/Lesbian detractors? He has the right to say what he wants but no one can say that he is a bigot because of it? Really? A bit hypocritical. He has the right to say what he said. he also gets to deal with the fall out and consequences of saying it. And it was not just about Gay/Lesbians that he made comments. He also made comments stating that African Americans were happier under Jim Crow laws.

Anywhere else in the country I could tell this joke and nobody would really care.

Q. What do you call a Superbowl Champion in Seattle?

A. A tourist!

If I chose to say that down at my local 7-11 though? I'd expect a much angrier reception.*

There are consequences for our actions.

*It doesn't help that the one time they did get to the Superbowl, they lost - to my boys. Hah! :D

You know, it is easy to make jokes about DuckPapa's comments, and in fact I did. But, he equated homosexuality with bestiality, and in another passage claimed that blacks were just happy, happy working for the white man. I am neither gay nor black, and his comments made me angry. (Yeah, yeah, I live in liberal coastal northern California.)

Yet, this yahoo is worth $15 million (his son is worth another $20 million) by making freaking duck whistles ($100????) and their brand. WTF, couldn't a better duck call be made with a phone app and some speakers?

And, WTF are "Christian" values?

The truth is that jokes, by their very nature, will often offend someone, somewhere.

If he wants to believe that homosexuality is the same as or leads to bestiality, that's his right. If he wants to share his opinion, that's his right. And again, he has the right to deal with the consequences.

I was going to say something about knowledge, horses and water. Changed my mind for the sake of common decency and the apparent increase in humor bypass surgeries though.

Until you rewrite the bible, he was simply following it. His black reference he specifically stated was in regard to those he had worked side by side with in the 60's.

No he wasn't following but rather picking and choosing. Would you like a few examples? For one he needs a haircut. Men should not have long hair per the bible:
1 Corinthians 11:14

Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him...
He should be disgraced.
He currently has long hair. Oh but that is fine because he says so. And he doesn't state that all men should have beards and those that do not are in the wrong. Part of his family has tattoos and the bible doesn't appreciate that either.
Leviticus 19:28: “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.”
But that is fine. He uses the parts that he wants to believe in and casts aside the rest. Got it. In other words he is a hypocrite. So much for being 100% for what is in the bible. Yeah, he isn't. So he should follow the WHOLE thing and not just those parts he decides matter. Right?

Curious here but not Curious90 :). I'm one of those heathen athiests, so I have not the benefit of some dude telling me every week on Sunday what I should believe and how to live my life. What does the bible say about people who you try to convert over to your way of thinking by ministering god's word to them and they won't come around to your way of thinking? I know the bible says somewhere to love your neighbor but what does it say about respecting their different belief system? I assume the bible must tell you to kill those who refuse to see the light or is that an incorrect assumption on my part, based on all the wars over religion this planet has endured?

So, by that definition, there is no "ban" on murder. There may be consequences for doing it but you are not prohibited from murdering anyone?

:D

Eek, I would love to have this conversation with you in all seriousness, but not online. PM me if interested.

Perhaps he was just paying homage to Jesus Christ.
