Landlord told me in late July they were going to put the house on the market once my lease ended end of August and not have anymore renters so I found myself somewhere else to rent. Told landlord 1st August that I would be moving out end of the month / lease. Since then landlord is trying to ruin my good name also slandering me with threats to get out. Saying I have ruined them financially, I am going to hell, I owe the thousands, made their sons life terrible. All total lies. I have perfect rental history / credit. Up until I said I was leaving she was telling me what a great tenant I was and thank you for being so caring and courteous and looking after her property which I have been doing . I have all her emails as proof. I had no idea she was going to rent again after me, until a couple came round last night and asked to view inside.!!! My lease ends on the 31st August. Do I have to let future renters come in to view the property whilst I am still here and is there anything I can do about the slander and discrediting my name.

Yes, although you require prior notice of this and the showings must be at reasonable times (i.e., not at 3 am in the morning).

" and is there anything I can do about the slander and discrediting my name."

What are your actual "damages" from all of this?

Did you give PROPER notice that you were moving? How did you give notice? You "told" the landlord. But did you give written notice at least 30 days ahead of time?
